I was really psyched to be a part of the crew participating in a surf camp for the Latin American Quiksilver team. Here's my video documenting the week.

1 Morning in Newport Beach

All the Quik kids converged on 54th street to get a few tubes and spin a couple little airs.

We're catching up with Derek Peters. He made a few rounds at the Volcom Pipe Pro recently, and he just went back yesterday to compete in a Junior event. Here, he discusses big Pipe, and how to catch up to his peers who just made the Tour.

The Circus Comes to Town

The invasion has begun. Barney's burning everyone, tons of gals on the beach, volleyballers, footballers, 9-ballers. Nike is leasing all the real estate along PCH. All the international pros are ripping the pier. Full blown circus, but ya gotta love it.

Summer in February

It was crowded with SUP's, boogy's, longboard's, multiple water photogs, groms everywhere, International pros, and it's 80 degrees and sunny! Plus, it was 2 feet and inconsistent. Feels like summer, except the water is 58 degrees and there are no girls on the beach.

You know who rules these days? People with energy, aka the under-20-year-olds.

Upper Trestles - the HB groms invade!

While we should have been at work or school, the Quiksilver team fled the swamped high-tide of the HB pier and bummed out all the locals at Upper Trestles by clogging the line-up.

P.S. Kanoa went on to win two divisions in this past weekend's amateur contest at Uppers. Ripping!

The Katin Warm Up - Day 1 - We ditched it!

There was a heavy Katin Warm Up on Northside this morning. A million camera's documenting Micah, Ted, Carlson, Ettigner, Kane, a more trying to warm up for the comp this week.
